A year after our first film, Clayspades, we're proud to release a new video project we've been working on all winter: Golden Hour.

Every bit of Golden Hour was filmed and produced within riding distance of our front door. We wanted to capture that feeling of stealing away at dawn for a quick blast or catching the last few minutes of sunlight after an awesome day on the bike. Nothing else matters in that moment but you, your bike and the next section of trail.

Airdrop Bikes Golden Hour

For me, the reality of mountain biking is quite often a quick ride - out of Sheffield through the parks, up the valley and into the Peak District. I've got a business to run, a family to look after and all the other pressures and realities of modern life. But those couple of hours are all it takes when the riding is this good. And every so often, if you're lucky, you get a golden hour. You have the trails all to yourself, it's quiet, still, and everything just flows. It's hard to describe but if you ride bikes, you'll know what I mean.

Airdrop Bikes - Golden Hour

We built a very special bike for this project. We managed to get hold of one of the first Cane Creek DBcoil IL shocks in the country, and found out very quickly that it's an incredible bit of kit. We also hooked up with Hope Technology - a company I personally have a lot of admiration for - to provide all the components. This build kit is the perfect accompaniment for the Edit v2 frame and its the sort of bike I want to build more of. Look out for a build video and more detail on the bike next week...

Airdrop Bikes - Golden Hour

Golden Hour was produced by our good friends Sam and Gee at Escapade7. They're both supremely talented and they've supported Airdrop right from the start. So a big thanks to those guys for helping to make this a reality.

Refreshing video. I also hope there will be a new Clayspades type action vid!
