We've added four new metallic decal options to our existing range of 12 gloss colours. Now you can choose Silver, Gold, Bronze or Anthracite for your new Airdrop bike.

We've had a lot of good customer feedback about the way we do frame decals. producing them in-house and applying them as part of the build process means we're able to offer loads of colour options and combined with three different frame colours that has meant 36 different combinations to choose from. OK, some of the combos look better than others to be totally honest - but that's just my opinion. This week a customer ordered an orange frame with turquoise decals and I wasn't so sure about it, but it actually looked great. And he's got the only Edit in the world with that colour scheme, so he's happy.

When I set up Airdrop, I wanted to do some different things with decals, get a bit more creative, and to allow customers a bit more scope to customise their bikes. So the first new option is four metallic colours: Silver, Gold, Bronze and Anthracite.

By the way, you can buy a replacement Edit Decal Kit in any of the colours we offer. The new Edit v2 Decal Kit will fit both Edit v1 and v2 frames, but of course we still do the original Edit v1 decal kit.

Silver Decals

The silver decals are fairly light in colour, so they're a good option if you want the decals to stand out on a black frame. As a metallic, they match up pretty well with anodised components. The silver decals are hardly visible on a raw frame, so if you have a raw frame I'd recommend Anthracite (that's what I have on my own bike).

Gold Decals

The gold decals match up pretty well to the gold on Cane Creek forks and shocks, and although it's not an exact match, id does look sweet. Again, the gold is best on a black frame; it does work on the raw frame but it's fairly light.

Bronze Decals

These bronze decals are darker than the gold; they match up pretty well to Kashima on Fox forks and the Marzocchi Espresso coating. Again, not an exact match but the combination looks good. Bronze works well on both black and raw frames.

Anthracite Decals

Anthracite is my own personal favourite. It's a dark metallic grey; some might call it gunmetal. It's almost an exact match for the metallic finish on Shimano XT group sets and brakes. It's probably the best stealth option on a black frame and it also looks great on a raw frame.

I think the bikes look great but it would be good to see a system where you could see an image of the bike for each frame colour and decal combination when you’re choosing and buying so there’s less uncertainty about if it will look as good as you imagined before you get it out the box.
