A dedicated chainstay protector kit for the Airdrop Slacker.
We put a lot of emphasis on building bikes that are quiet to ride; it's an often overlooked feature that can make a real difference to the xperience. But until now, we haven't found the perfect solution for chainstay protection. An old bit of inner tube, velcroed-on neoprene, or mastic tape... they all work, but they're not exactly dialled. We wanted to do better.
That's where the new Silencer Chainstay Protector comes in. Designed from the ground up to work perfectly on the Slacker, it's a one-piece, injection moulded TPE rubber protector. We've shaped it with sound-damping ridges on the top, protection from heel-scuff on the side, and it even covers the weld area on the chainstay yoke. Pre-applied adhesive on the entire inside surface keeps it in place. There's a subtle Airdrop logo embossed on the side and we've even specced the perfect surface texture. It's pre-tensioned to wrap around the tube, so the material memory forces it to stay wrapped, not try to peel off.
All new Slacker bikes and frames come with a Silencer included. We've also made it available as an aftermarket kit which includes a self-adhesive silicon patch to use on the seatstay and an isopropyl wipe to clean your frame before application.
