Conventionally, the additional weight of a steel spring is the tradeoff you accept when choosing a coil over an air shock. To address that, Cane Creek developed VALT steel which allows them to use less material for a given spring rate. As a result the spring is lighter without affecting performance.
Typical weight is 300-400g versus 400-500g for a conventional spring (actual spring weight varies a little depending on spring rate).
The 2.25" stroke length is correct for the 185x55mm Cane Creek DBcoil IL shocks we fit to the Airdrop Filter. The 2.5" stroke length is correct for the 205x60mm Cane Creek DB Kitsuma Coil shocks we fit to the Airdrop Edit.
